Microsoft creates many service packs, security fixes and bug fixes for the operating systems, like Windows XP and Windows Vista. These updates have the freedom of charge and are available through Microsoft Update. You can access updates through its website, accessible through Internet Explorer, although Windows Vista also offers an updating panel with the operating system.
Click "Start" and "All Programs."
Click "Windows Update."
Click "Check for Updates."
Click "Install Updates" to start with the free updating process. Restart your personal machine should the changes made to your system need a reboot.
